Applications

SPYMIRROR glass is mainly used for observation purposes, as it allows the observer to monitor the situation while remaining hidden from view – an effect which is also increasingly being used in interior design and exterior architectural applications allowing you to deliberately control people’s ability to look out of or into a room. 20% SPYMIRROR is also often used to make monitors and displays disappear when switched off – when switched on, the bright monitor or display is visible behind the mirrored glass. Typical applications include:

  • Observation applications (supermarkets, security zones, conference rooms with cameras)
  • Exterior and interior design, particularly for display integration

The reflection values both of the glass side as well as the coated side of the sheet vary depending on which type of SPYMIRROR glass you choose. Choose from the following combinations:

  1% type – 43%/53% glass side/coated side
12% type – 34%/46% glass side/coated side
20% type – 24%/35% glass side/coated side
30% type – 17%/30%  glass side/coated side
40% type -  12%/23%  glass side/coated side

Handling

Handle SPYMIRROR with care and store glass with its protective film still attached, in an area protected from sunlight. Damage can be avoided by keeping supports, layers and suction tools clean. During installation, remove any traces of sealants right away. It is essential that you keep other building material such as lime or cement away from glass surfaces, as these binders can harm the coating. If the glass does get dirty, wash away any spilled material with plenty of water and avoid rubbing the material, as dirt grains may scratch the glass.
